Event Organisers Guide
“THE DORIC FESTIVAL” encourages and welcomes events which celebrate the North East traditions in language, music and dance, in local venues all over the North East of Scotland.
THE DORIC FESTIVAL BOARD will:
1. place the Festival Programme on our Web site (Persons without computers can obtain print-outs by phoning Director)
2. advertise all events byprinting 10,000 flyers and issuing Press releases; supplying Features to Press, Radio and TV and by arranging photo-calls and publicity events.
3. supply blank posters with our logo for you to advertise your event locally
4. act as an agency for performers wishing to participate and for organising groups with venues who do not have performers
5. administer all aspects of the Festival.
6. reserve Friday 26th Septemberfor the Opening Concert.
7. reserve the right to organise its own events.
EVENT PARTICIPATION GUIDE FOR ORGANISERS
1. Event Organisers are responsible for;
a) booking their chosen venue, satisfying themselves regarding fire, general safety. Wherever possible venues should allow disabled access
b) the detailed organisation of their own event
2. Event Organisers set their own ticket prices. If event organisers have difficulties producing tickets THE DORIC FESTIVAL can assist.
For consistency at all events in the Festival, concession tickets should be available to:-
Over 60s , Students, Unemployed Under 16s and Disabled
3. “THE DORIC FESTIVAL” reserves the right to advise of, and to discourage clashes of event dates within neighbouring areas.
4. Event Organisers may enclose photographs relevant to their event and the Logo of any sponsor of their event, for inclusion in the programme. The decision to include any photographs rests solely with the programme editor.
5. THE DORIC FESTIVAL board members will endeavour to visit your event during the festival.
6. The Festival Directors are pleased to offer guidance and advice with regard to any problems individual organisers encounter.
7 Organisers are reminded that their events should reflect the AIM of THE DORIC FESTIVAL to celebrate the language, literature, songs and music and traditions of the North East.
